Fatigue and Exercise:

Fatigue is a commonly reported symptom by cancer patients.  Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF) has been formally defined as “a distressing, persistent, subjective sense of physical, emotional and/or cognitive tiredness or exhaustion related to cancer or cancer treatment that is not proportional to recent physical activity and interferes with usual function.”

Cancer fatigue often impairs your ability to complete everyday activities such as work and family time, and for many patients this does not disappear when treatment has stopped. Sometimes it can continue for years. Research shows us that exercise has positive impacts on fatigue and can even be more of a natural energy booster when compared to energy drinks, coffee, or prescription drugs. This is just one good reason for embarking on a lifestyle that includes regular exercise.
